Peter Jentes
Peter Jentes has celebrated more than 40 years in the hotel business and has worked as General and Area Manager in some of the finest hotels in Singapore, the Philippines, Australia, Korea and Hong Kong.
Early in his career, during his stay in the Philippines, Peter was actively involved in the development of tourism with his involvement in the country’s Hotel and Restaurant Association, Rotary Clubs, and through his role as General Manager of the Hyatt Regency Manila.
Peter withdrew from the hotel industry for a while in 1978 and opened the first Wienerwald Restaurant, now known as Schwarzwalder, to be followed by outlets in Australia and Singapore. Ten years later, he returned to the hotel operation when Hyatt International Hotels decided to launch their top-of-the-line brand and elected him to open the company’s flagship, the Grand Hyatt Hong Kong.
The hotel went on to win worldwide recognition and numerous awards under his leadership. Peter then joined CDL Hotels International as Chief Operating Officer through 1997.
